The PQ Is Holding On, But the Race Is Far From Over
New data suggests the province remains headed for a highly competitive election this fall
Welcome to the Quebec update for July 1, 2026 - (And Happy Canada Day!)
In the past month, we’ve had about three new polls, so let’s run through them and see where things stand.
Synopsis found the Parti Québécois at 31% (+1 compared to May 9), while the Liberals fell to 25% (-5), and the CAQ made up much of that ground by rising to 21% (+3). The Conservatives were also down slightly to 12% (-1), while Québec Solidaire was the other big winner in Synopsis’ poll, climbing to 11% (+3).
Pallas found the PQ steady at 29% (Unchanged compared to May 8), while the Liberals once again slipped to 25% (-3), and the CAQ edged up to 20% (+1). The Conservatives remained stable at 14% (-), while QS once again received a boost, rising to 11% (+3).
Léger also had the PQ holding steady at 30% (Unchanged compared to May 18), while the Liberals saw a more modest decline than in the other polls, slipping to 27% (-1). The CAQ also dipped slightly to 21% (-1). The Conservatives posted a small gain in this poll, climbing to 13% (+2), while QS remained stable (-).
Now let’s see where the model sits today!
