New polling from the Angus Reid Institute suggests broad support for the One Canadian Economy Act, also known as Bill C-5. The bill aims to give the federal government greater authority to fast-track national projects and reduce longstanding provincial barriers that have hindered the free movement of goods across Canada.
According to the survey, 52% of Canadians support the bill, while less than a quarter (22%) oppose it. Another 26% remain unsure.
Support is strongest among Liberal and Conservative voters, at 60% and 58%, respectively. New Democrats are more divided, with 36% in support and 35% opposed.
