Liberals Dominate As Canadians Voice Opposition To Iran War

Liberals maintain a strong lead as Canadians reject military involvement in the Iran War

Welcome to your Polling Canada model update for March 21, 2026!

This past week saw six new polls, the weekly Nanos and Liaison trackers, Abacus, Mainstreet, EKOS, and Angus Reid

Liaison saw the Liberals inch up to 45% (+1 compared to Mar 7), alongside the Conservatives at 31% (+1), with the NDP down to 8% (-1) and Bloc at 6% (-). The PPC remains elevated at 4% (-), with the Greens at 3% (-).

Nanos found the gap between the Liberals and Conservatives grow further, with the Grits at 48% (+2 compared to Mar 6), Conservatives at 31% (-2), NDP at 11% (+1), and Bloc at 5% (-). The Greens dipped to 4% (-1), with the PPC at 1% (-).

Abacus also saw the gap widen, with the Liberals at 46% (+2 compared to Feb 23), Tories down to 35% (-3), NDP at 7% (-) and Bloc up to 7% (+1). The Greens remain stable at 3% (-), with the PPC at 1% (-).

Mainstreet’s poll has come down from the previous fifteen point lead, with the Liberals at 46% (-5 compared to Feb 2), Conservatives stable at 36% (-), NDP up to 7% (+3), and Bloc down to 4% (-2). The PPC rose to 3% (+2), while the Greens were even at 2% (-).

EKOS shared an eye watering poll with the Liberals at 48% (+4 compared to Jan 30), the Conservative dropping into the 20s at 27% (-3), the NDP up to 15% (+1), and Bloc at 4% (-1). The Greens were also up to 5% (+1), with the PPC stable at 2% (-).

Angus Reid also saw an increase for the Conservatives this week, with the Liberals at 44% (-1 compared to Feb 23), Conservatives up to 36% (+4), NDP down to 9% (-1), with the Bloc at 7% (-). The Greens dipped to 2% (-2), with others at 1%.



Overall, the Liberal lead remained steady at the national level, with the Liberals maintaining a thirteen point lead over the Conservatives on average.

The Liberal lead shrank in Atlantic Canada (-2 compared to last week), while their lead grew in Quebec (+2), and British Columbia (+3). Ontario remains unchanged this week.

Meanwhile, the Conservatives ticked up in Alberta (+1), while maintaining their previous lead in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
