New polling from Research Co explores how Canadian political leaders are faring with the public, and whether voters support a merger between the NDP and either the Greens or Liberals.
To start, Mark Carney continues to enjoy a political honeymoon, with an approval rating of 61%, while 32% disapprove of him. That puts him well ahead of the next closest leaders, Yves-François Blanchet and Pierre Poilievre, who both sit at 44% approval—Blanchet in Quebec and Poilievre nationally.
Elizabeth May and Don Davies trail behind, with approval ratings of 34% and 26%, respectively. While more respondents were unsure about Davies than May, their disapproval numbers are relatively similar.
Maxime Bernier remains at the bottom of the list, with just 21% of Canadians approving of him, and 54% disapproving.
